IMPROVED INFRASTRUCTURE & INCREASED EFFICIENCY
Variety Food Services is Michigan's largest and most experienced independent food service provider, specializing in serving businesses, schools and healthcare.
Variety Food Services engaged MobileIT to explore an IT strategy regarding its current ageing network infrastructure. The infrastructure’s performance was poor and had issues with application performance, staff efficiency and slow client access to information.
MobileIT provided a strategy to migrate the struggling IT platform into a fast, streamlined, secure and scalable solution. All this was done without Variety Food Services experiencing any downtime. This included:
Migrating and consolidating all physical servers to vmware
Changing internal data wiring from CAT5 to CAT6.
Network switches upgraded from 10/100MB to 1000MB.
Databases were migrated to Microsoft SQL.
Secure network firewall was updated.
Robust backup strategy with disaster recovery.
INCREASED REVENUES FROM $10 MILLION TO $50 MILLION
Poof-Slinky, Inc. was a leading manufacturer of foam sport balls in North America and maker of the world famous Slinky, manufactured with pride in Hollidaysburg, PA.
In 1998, MobileIT began doing work with Poof-Slinky acting as a CITRIX consultant. Slowly MobileIT began to take over all the IT services for Poof-Slinky who was still using Peach Tree DOS as their ERP.
As the company began to grow and acquire other companies via acquisitions, MobileIT provided consultancy services to upgrade the ERP to a more enterprise ERP system called SAGE 100.
As Poof-Slinky expanded into other states and countries, MobileIT provided secure, global communication solutions across multi-sites connected through a single secure platform.
After 18 years of providing IT solutions for Poof-Slinky to support its growth, the company was sold to a VC firm. Impressed with MobileIT’s solutions they continued to leverage its expertise and today MobileIT are still managing the IT for Alex Brands LLC formerly, Poof-Slinky.
DEVELOPED & IMPLEMENTED BESPOKE ECOMMERCE PLATFORM
MobileIT was retained by a PC and Server Ecommerce refurbishing manufacturing specialist. The successful business turned over $20 million, whilst using only a highly customized excel spreadsheet system. MobileIT was appointed to integrate new IT systems focused on achieving maximum automation and efficiency.
The client had 200,000 listings on Ebay, Amazon and Newegg which were being manually inputted. Inventory was also being manually managed. The current process was very cumbersome and did not have any business enterprise IT best practices in place. MobileIT spent several months working with the company to understand its business process, pain points and needs.
On completion of the feasibility study, MobileIT proposed a comprehensive Ecommerce solution leveraging the Magento 2 platform, M2E pro and Sage 100. The result - All listings are now automated and product price changes occur globally versus individually. Orders are pushed into the SAGE ERP system for accurate accounting practices and inventory is now managed efficiently.
